WE WORKED WITH THE APPLICANT. THEY HAD FIBER CREEK DRIVEWAYS.

THEY HAD ENCLOSURES UNDERNEATH IT. SO, WORKING WITH THEM IN THE LAST ALMOST A YEAR ON THIS THEY'VE REDUCED EVERYTHING UNDERNEATH IT TO BASICALLY

IT SAYS THAT GRAVEL AND CRUSHED LIMESTONE MAY BE USED TO CONSTRUCT DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING AREAS WITHIN 50FT LANDWARD OF THE LINE OF VEGETATION TO THE DUNE PROTECTION LINE.

THE APPLICANT PROPOSES GRAVEL OR CRUSHED LIMESTONE BENEATH THE HABITABLE STRUCTURE AND BACK PORCH, AREAS THAT DO NOT APPEAR TO BE PART OF THE DRIVEWAY AND PARKING AREA.

SO, IS THAT SAYING IT'S OKAY OR NOT OKAY? SO, WE'VE BEEN WE'VE HAD SOME DISCUSSIONS WITH GLO ON THEIR INTERPRETATION OF OUR EXEMPTIONS AND HOW WE'RE LOOKING AT EXEMPTIONS.

SO RIGHT NOW, THERE'S SOME THEY'RE SAYING THAT THESE EXEMPTIONS WE SHOULD THE CITY SHOULD HAVE EXEMPTED LIKE ENTIRE AREAS FOR CONSTRUCTION. AND WE'RE LOOKING AT ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.

SO, THERE'S KIND OF THAT THAT DISCONNECT. SO, BUT WE HAVE WE SEND THESE UP TO GLO WE SAY THIS MEETS THIS THIS MEETS THAT.

SO, WE SAY IT'S CONSISTENT WITH OUR PLAN. IT DOESN'T SAY THAT WE CANNOT.

AND WHAT THEY'RE REFERENCING THERE IS SAYING FROM A DUNE, WITHIN A DUNE AREA, YOU KNOW, IT HAS TO BE YOU CAN'T BE LIKE MORE THAN 25FT FROM A DUNE, BUT THERE'S NOT A DUNE THERE. OUR PLAN IS A CERTIFIED PLAN. SO, IT ALLOWS VARIANCES TO THE TAC.

SO THAT'S WHERE WE IF IT'S NOT IDENTIFIED UNDER OUR PLAN WE ALWAYS REFER BACK TO TAC.

SHE WAS BORN IN OLDENBURG, GERMANY, IN 1797, BY 1824, SHE WAS MARRIED TO GEORGE LUDWIG BERMAN IN HIS HOMETOWN OF HANOVER, GERMANY. TOGETHER, THE TWO HAD FOUR DAUGHTERS AND THREE SONS.

THEY MOVED TO GALVESTON IN 1843, WHERE GEORGE WAS ONE OF THE CITY'S EARLIEST PHARMACISTS.

THEY RELOCATED TO HOUSTON BRIEFLY BY JANUARY 1867.

BERMAN, NOW A WIDOW, HAD RETURNED TO GALVESTON AND PURCHASED TWO LOTS ON BROADWAY, 1627 AND 1623, NEXT DOOR. THEY BUILT THIS PROPERTY AS A RENTAL COTTAGE, WITH THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE BEING NEXT DOOR.

IN 1912, THE BERMAN DESCENDANTS SOLD THE PROPERTIES TO C HARBOR ANDERSON.

HE DEMOLISHED THE HOUSE OF 1627 AND BUILT HIS PERSONAL RESIDENCE THERE.

THIS COTTAGE HERE HE SOLD TO ATTORNEY ROBERT G.

STREET, WHO WAS ALSO ONE OF OUR GALVESTON COUNTY JUDGES.

THIS GULF COAST STYLE COTTAGE RETAINS MUCH OF ITS HISTORIC INTEGRITY, SERVES AS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE VERNACULAR STYLE.

IN 1913, JUDGE STREET REMODELED THE HOUSE, INCLUDING ADDING THE ROOF DORMERS AND ADDITIONAL BEDROOM AND BATHROOM UPSTAIRS.

THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED IN A HISTORIC DISTRICT AND IS INELIGIBLE FOR THE FINANCIAL INCENTIVES FOR HISTORIC PROPERTIES.
