THE SCULPTURE IS CALLED RESOLVE AND IS MEANT TO BE A PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF GALVESTON'S RESILIENCE. SO THE SILHOUETTE OF THE STATUE IS A WAVE BREAKING OVER THE SEAWALL, WITH THE WAVE BEING A REPLICA OF A SCROLL OF A PRE 1900 STORM HOUSE ON GALVESTON ISLAND. AND THIS IS DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED BY GALVESTON SCULPTOR AND BLACKSMITH DOUG MCLEAN, AND IT INSPIRED A NEW AWARD CATEGORY THAT WE'LL USE IN 2025 CALLED CULTURAL ARTS. SO IT'S A BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ART, AND I THINK IT'S A GREAT INVESTMENT IN PUBLIC ART.
