THE APPLICANT THEN SUBMITTED A BUILDING PERMIT FOR MODIFICATIONS AND THE APPLICANT NOW REQUESTS A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS TO RETAIN THESE CHANGES.

PLEASE NOTE THE DESIGN STANDARDS IN THE STAFF REPORT.

STAFF LINES, THE CANOPY PARTIALLY CONFORMS WITH THE DESIGN STANDARDS THAT GAUSSIAN ARCHITECTURAL GUIDEBOOK NAMES A PROPERTY OF SALE.

WE FINISH OUR GROCERY BILL CIRCA 1901,1912 SANBORN INSURANCE MAP SHOW A CANOPY ON THE BUILDING AT THAT TIME.

THE CANOPY BE USED WITH THIS QUITE COMMON ON HISTORIC COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, INCLUDING CORNER STORES AND TEND TO BE FAIRLY SIMPLE IN DESIGN.

1985, SANBORN MAPS INDICATE THE CANOPY WAS REMOVED SOMETIME AFTER 1947, BUT THEN REBUILT.

THE REBUILT CANOPY WE'RE LOOKING AT TODAY IS EXTREMELY FLAT, THE ROOFING IS NOT EASILY VISIBLE FROM THE STREET.

HOWEVER, TEXTURED HARDY BOARD PHASE SHIFT APPEARS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE EDGES OF THE CANOPY, WHICH IS A VIOLATION OF THAT DESIGN STANDARDS.

STAFF HAS CONCERNS ABOUT THE NEW WINDOWS ADDED FACING 16TH STREET WHICH LOCATED AND LOCATION BE HIGHLY VISIBLE SECONDARY WALL.

PRESERVATION, REPAIRING THE PLACES A PRIORITY, SANBORN MASS INDICATE THAT THE ADDITION WAS PRESENT AS RECENTLY AS 1947, MEANING THAT THE ADDITION OF THOSE SMALL IN SIZE HAS SOME HISTORIC PROVENANCE.

THE WINDOWS WHICH WERE INSTALLED DID NOT APPEAR TO MATCH THE STANDARD FOR NEW WINDOWS ON HIGHLY VISIBLE FACADES.

A PRAYER TO BE VINYL WITH SIMILARLY AT BUTTONS AND DIVIDED LIGHTS.

LANDMARK COMMISSION DETERMINES ADDITION OF NEW WINDOW OPENINGS IS APPROPRIATE.

STAFF RECOMMENDS THAT THE WINDOWS BE WOOD AND IT WENT OVER ONE CONFIGURATION INSTEAD.

STAFF RECOMMENDS THE REQUEST BE APPROVED ON THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS.

A SPECIFIC CONDITION 1 THEY STARE MODIFICATION [INAUDIBLE] DESIGN MATERIAL AND PLACEMENT PRESENT ATTACHMENT OF THE STAFF REPORT WITH THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS.

THE WINDOWS ADDED IN THE REAR ADDITION FACING 16TH STREET BILL BE OMITTED AND REMOVED AND COMPATIBLE CITING RESTORED.

THAT'S A BIG ISSUE WITH ME, AND I'D CALLED PLANNING IN JANUARY OF LAST YEAR AND THEY TOLD ME THEY'D LOOK INTO IT, BUT I SAW THEY WERE CONTINUED ON AND IT'S BEEN A RENTAL NOW FOR A YEAR WITH INTERESTING ACTIVITY GOING ON OVER THERE.

BUT IT'S ALSO STILL LISTED ON THE TAX ROLLS AS COMMERCIAL.

HE'S GETTING OFF RUNNING IT AND PAYING ABOUT A THIRD OF THE TAXES THAT WERE PAYING, WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE.

THERE'S A COPPER VESTIBULE THERE THAT HAS SOME LITTLE WATER CHANNELS AND THINGS.

AS WE ARE WORKING IN THAT ROOM, WHICH WE'RE CONVERTING INTO AN ON-SUITE BATHROOM, WE'VE LEARNED THERE'S SOME WOOD ROT RIGHT THERE, SO THE WHOLE VESTIBULE IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE FIXED A BIT AS WELL TO SOLVE THAT.

WE FELT THE AWNING WOULD BE A NICE FEATURE TO COMPLEMENT THE MEDITERRANEAN STYLE OF THE HOUSE, AT THE SAME TIME HOPEFULLY STOP SOME OF THE WATER AND STUFF FROM GETTING INTO THERE AND THEN THE LIGHTS ARE JUST EXTRA TO ADD TO IT.
