Consider for approval a Resolution of the City of Galveston, Texas, urging the Texas Legislature to amend Chapter 418. "Emergency Management", of the Texas Government code by allowing a municipality to designate either its Presiding Officer, City Manager, Chief Administrative Officer, and/or Chief Executive Officer to have the authority and powers during an emergency or disaster as set forth by State law; directing the City Secretary to send a certified copy of this Resolution to Governor Rick Perry, State Senators Joan Huffman and Mike Jackson, and State Representative Craig Eiland; providing for findings of fact and providing for an effective date (CM Greenberg/CM Gonzales).
Consider for approval an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Galveston, Texas, canvassing the returns of the General, Special and Joint Election held on May 12. 2012, with the Galveston Community College District.
